I realize after only a few hits that I’ve set my pipe down and feel satisfied, happy-go-lucky, carefree… and hungry. After my first hit, I get that nasal tingle and sharpness in my throat that many citrus strains are known for, along with a nice, musty grapefruit taste, that again, makes my mouth water. As I break up her trichome rich flowers, a vanilla enhanced pine note is exchanged with the grapefruit smell, but does not fully overpower the citrus qualities. Jack Herer is also known by a different name (simply based on a different phenotype being expressed), Princess. Upon some research, I can say with certainty that Grapefruit comes from Cinderella 99 - which seems to come from a great mix of popular strains including Jack Herer ( Shiva Skunk x Northern Lights x Haze). I think this is due to two factors - the first, is that she’s an older strain and many people have changed her lineage, which results in reason two - the many different forms and phenotypes of the original Grapefruit strain. Grapefruit is a sativa dominant strain with a genetic lineage that is more difficult to trace than most other popular strains. It’s also a strain I have a close semi-personal relationship with, since it was the first strain my boyfriend obtained in Colorado back in 2004, and he has since passed his love for it onto me. If you want to try a cannabis strain that is true to her name inside and out, Grapefruit is one to try indubitably. ![]()
